We marked the end of an era back in March 2015 when our previous owner and Managing Director Simon Francis decided to move on to pastures new and sold ESE Direct to a Yorkshire-based PLC.
Simon’s father Brian Francis set up Eastern Storage Equipment in 1970 mainly selling shelving and racking. In 2000 we began trading online consistently growing and we now employ a staff of 27.
To help to continue the upward track and brand growth, we have appointed a new Managing Director. Jackie Wells comes to us following some years working in both the UK and Australia and brings with her an abundance of knowledge and experience from managerial roles in sales and call centre focussed businesses.
We are excited to welcome Jackie at a time when we are expanding our product range and introducing a new computer system which will merge all our current accounting, sales and customer service software into one much more streamlined process. This will also enhance our ability to target marketing materials efficiently.
Jackie said, "It is a privilege to join such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team, some of whom have twenty years' experience in the industry. The new investment in IT systems will enable us to continue growing and take the business to a new level".
Notably, for 2016 we have selected a charity local to work alongside and have donated over £1000 to date. Break charity provide support to vulnerable young people within East Anglia. We are continuing to become more widely recognised within the local business community and George our quirky Traffic Cone Dragon regularly attends networking events in the city of Norwich and is proving to be very popular.
