Ingenious Ways To Stop Entrance Mats From Slipping

So you've bought one of our entrance mats for your home, or working environment, but you want to make sure that it stays put? Look no further...

stop mat slipping

There’s nothing more irritating than not being able to open the door properly because the mat has bunched up and is causing an obstruction. So we've put together a quick guide to stopping your mats from slipping all over the place.

Make sure that the floor is clean and dry before you lay your mat down

This may sound obvious, but if you are in a rush it can be all too easy to just pop it in the entrance and get on with whatever you're doing. If you have a non-carpeted floor, its worth taking the extra 5-10 minutes to wash the floor and dry, so no dirt can interfere with any adhesion. If you have carpeted floor then make sure it is hoovered and there are no bits of dirt or fluff remaining.

Choose a grip tape, gripping strips or other solution

Depending on where and how often the mats or rugs are walked on, there are a wide range of products available to help combat mat and rug slippage.

Grip Tape

Really simple to use, simply adhere to the edges of your mat or rug and peel off the other side, it will stop bunching and corners being flipped up which can causes slips and trips.

Grip Strips

Much like the grip tape above apart from available in smaller patches, so you concentrate in certain areas, or perhaps to just stop the middle of the rug and mat.

Non-slip Matting or Underlay

Available from carpet stores and furniture shops, you simply cut to size and place under the rug or mat.

The great thing about all the solutions here is that they should leave no marks or residue once removed!
